Modern Family is a comedic television show which displays an honest portrayal of contemporary family life in suburban Los Angeles. The three families presented consist of a middle aged married couple and their three children, a same-sex couple and their adopted daughter, and an older man and his much younger second wife, son, and stepson.
These families all have aspects which make them unique. Each of the individual characters and the relationships between them represent the variety of today's "normal" families. This sitcom accurately represents life in the 21st centrury.
